Sew Crazies - July 2021
“Challenge Yourself”
gives you the opportunity to learn something new
and to share your acquired skills with our group.
*************************
The Challenge Committee settled on the inventive topic
Fabric Manipulation/Embellishment
as a stimulus for distinctive projects.
The REVEAL will be at the Meeting on July 12.
We encourage you to sew something that highlights
creative ways to “re-engineer” fabric.
For a multitude of examples and directions,

You can make this for yourself or someone dear to you. Select one or several different techniques that you have never tried before.
Showcase your designs on any style apron or an alternate foundation. As you reveal your handiwork, you will be asked to share some of your thoughts and actions while sewing. |
“Challenge Yourself ” Reflections…
What was your inspiration?
Have you named your creation?
When and how did you decide what to do?
Did you change your mind or alter your plan?
Please give us a quick idea of construction steps.
Do you have any samples to show us?
Did you need to purchase any new tools?
Have you asked for help along the way?
Which techniques are included?
What did you learn?
Would you do this again?
What would you change to make it easier or better?
Where did you put your signature / label?
Could you teach this to a beginner?
Did this project bring back apron memories?
Describe the FUN parts.
Will you keep this or give it to someone you love?

Please make the “Challenge Yourself” project a success by encouraging everyone to take advantage of this opportunity to expand our collective sewing repertoire.
The Committee plans to support this mission by sharing a few hands-on examples of Fabric Manipulation during upcoming meetings. Please feel free to share your progress along the way as well. We would like to think of this as a Group Adventure with very inventive, enthusiastic, resourceful, and supportive friends. Our goal is to Sew and Grow Together. Happy Manipulating from Your Challenge Committee, ============= Becky, Diane, Kathiann, Loni, and Mady |
