A Gathering for Chapter News and Annual Elections
Knits give you fits? Use silks in quilts?
Avoid leather altogether? No need to fear “Fussy Fabrics.”
Sue Wassermann’s presentation bolstered our courage. Sue has
clever solutions for working with all sorts of fabrics that
slip, stretch, bump, clump, and ravel.
There are no Bad Fabrics. They just need a little understanding.

Sue Wassermann enters the world of “Fussy Fabrics” with the courage of a Lion Tamer.
A new and different fabric means taking risks but with a little (sometimes a lot) of experimentation, these can be conquered. Sue shared tips she has learned and suggested looking for tools on hand in our homes, hardware stores, surplus equipment outlets, etc. Her bag of tricks included forks, laser, hemostat, hairspray, soldering iron, mallet, wine cork, rubber erasers, dental instruments, binder clips, and so much more. A little assistance was provided by husband, Mike Perry, who explained the work they do in repairing parachutes. And we thought quilts were large!

The Orlando Chapter CAB (Chapter Advisory Board) modeled outfits with challenging fabrics to sew.
This was a day of Fabric Fun including Lunch, a take-home project, and door prizes.
Best of all, we enjoyed a delightful "stress free" time with Sewing Friends.
